Atlanta Trend CEO/CIO Leadership Luncheon Discussion led by Marianne Johnson on Keys to Innovation FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Atlanta Trend hosted its bi-monthly CEO/CIO Leadership Luncheon at the Buckhead Club on Feb. 24. Featured speaker Marianne Johnson, SVP of Equifax, led her peers in a discussion on the keys to innovation. Attendees included John Freimuth, VP, Internap; Amy Brady, SVP, Enterprise & Shared Services, Bank of America; Bob Bramski, CIO, DS Waters; Lisa LaVallee, CIO, McKesson; Chris Kenyon, CIO, Elavon; Jeff Afonso, SVP, Elavon; Patrick Davie, VP of IT, Fiserv; Heather Rocker, Executive Director, Women In Technology; Steve Trevor Allen, VP, APAC Customer Service, Bill Matteson, Matteson Partners and Phil Ventimiglia, VP NCR. "Our success with innovation at Equifax is the result of the right combination of communication and teamwork. On a daily basis, we foster and create innovative thinking via ‘intense moments of fellowship,’” Johnson said. “In doing so, we fully empower and engage others to leverage their talents and generate incredible results." During her career at Equifax, Marianne has played an integral role in the rollout and continued success of the company’s New Product Innovation (NPI) process. "How do you truly get the voice of the customer to determine if you are working on the right thing?" Marianne asked the luncheon participants. They discussed best-practices methodology to effectively launch new products. In 2007, Equifax implemented an infrastructure that would optimize new product delivery capabilities and drive increased growth in key industries. This new infrastructure provides a disciplined, systematic and rapid process for transforming new ideas into new products and driving them to market. Through the NPI process, Equifax has introduced 64 new products and services which have delivered nearly $100 million in revenue in the last three years. "Everyone was impressed with the results Marianne was able to achieve," said Robert Green, CEO of Trans Atlantic Systems. "Some were stunned." Some of these innovations include: New solutions for the secondary market to help lenders and investors make buy/sell decisions with the most up-to-date borrower and property value information. The Equifax I-Card, which empowers consumers to protect their identities and gives businesses better ways of conducting transactions online and reducing fraud. Settlement services which help lenders streamline the settlement process and improve the overall closing experience for partners, suppliers and their borrowers. "Many of the new services we have developed represent integrated product offerings that span multiple resources, processes and functions within Equifax," Johnson said. "While members of my team represent key facilitators and integrators of the NPI process, our ability to connect teams and thought leaders with expertise across a number of areas has enabled Equifax’s recent innovation success. From Sales and Product Management to Technology and Operations, we all work very well together at both the top leadership levels as well as the lower level execution teams." Atlanta Trend hosts bi-monthly luncheons to bring together CIOs and CEOs in the Atlanta business community for networking and discussion.
